Success

Success is considered by each of us in different ways. Some people think that it concerns only material things. Others seek it in friends and family. There are also people for whom achieving a success means a satisfaction from job. For me, success is a combination of several elements but the most important is to surround myself with good people who make me happy.

In my opinion, everybody pursues some goals every day even if they think that what they do is boring or common. There are a lot of keys to success in my everyday life for exemple working hard during the studies and developing my language skills. I would like to use my knowledge of French and English in my future job. My dream is to work in an international company where these languages are necessary. Also, I would like to travel a lot because I’ve always wanted to get to know other countries, especially in Europe. I have still a lot to learn and these prospects are very distant but I do my best to achieve the goals.

However, if my plans connected with the job fail, I won’t be unhappy. In my opinion, there’s nothing more important than family and friends. If you have a well-paid, satisfying job but you’re alone, you can’t share your happiness with anybody. The main key to success is for me setting up home. I think that only if I have a husband and children will I achieve peace in my life. But it’s the future. For the moment, I try to have a good relationship with my family and friends whom I put first.

PS. When it comes to the success...It would be nice to pass the exams :)
Good luck guys!

Home sweet home...

Recently, we were talking about different places to live. In my opinion, my home in Gorzów is perfect in every respect. Unfortunately, I don't visit it often because of the studies in Poznań. That's why I had to get accustomed to the new place of living. I would like to describe it and show its weak and strong points to you.

The place where I live in Poznań is situated in a district called Piątkowo. I live with my brother and his wife in a block of flats in the vicinity of radio tower, on the estate Sobieskiego. It takes me about ten minutes to get to the PST (fast tram) on foot and about one minute to get there by bus.

To begin with, I would like to present the advantages of living in Piątkowo. First of all, the surroundings of my block of flats is quiet and pretty. There are a lot of trees, benches and pavements, therefore you can go for a walk or have an active rest such us cycling or roller skating. It's a good place to live especially for families with children. Piątkowo is a total opposite of crowded and noisy centre so you can really relax here after school or work and get some fresh air.

Secondly, I have a nice, cosy room to myself which is very convenient option. Last year, I shared a room with my best friend and it wasn't a good idea as we were arguing all the time. Now I can sleep, listen to the music and learn when I want to, without paying attention to others. It really helps me with organizing my time. Moreover, the price of the room is reasonable which is very rare in case of single rooms in Poznań.

Nevertheless, living on Sobieskiego has weak points too. Firstly, the walls are so thin that I hear almost everything from behind the flat – from playground, staircase and flats of the neighbours. It's really irritating especially when I have something important to do for instance when I learn. To make matters worse, I have a really weird neighbour who is about fourteen and she makes much noise than all the neighbours. Singing, screaming and quarrels with mother are the order of the day.

Furthermore, Piątkowo is situated far from the centre, therefore it takes me some time to get to the university. Thanks to PST, the access is much better but still I have to spend about forty minutes on getting there. However, the worst problem is not PST but the bus which brings me to the tram stop. If it is late, it will be very probable that I' ll be late too. It takes about ten minutes from the bus stop to the tram stop so sometimes I decide to go on foot or rather run :)

To sum up, my place of living in Poznań has some strengths and weaknesses. It isn't the flat of my dreams but I can't complain – it's cosy and comfortable and that is the most important. In my opinion the advantages are much stronger. I'm fond of the district so I will probably live here next year.

I still hope that my ideal home waits for me somewhere, perhaps in France... :)

Review ;)

Recently I saw „Submarine”, the British film directed by Richard Ayoade. This comedy-drama tells the story of a fifteen-year-old boy who encounters problems of the adolescence and tries to solve them in his own, sometimes funny, way.

The plot evolves around a main character – Olivier Tate (Craig Roberts) and his girlfriend – Jordana (Yasmin Paige) who is the opposite of the boy. Olivier, as a shy, caring and thoughtful person, is enchanted by a rebellious girl who seems to be insensitive. Their relationship becomes closer and closer and introduces the viewers to a complicated world of the adolescents. Olivier experience the first feelings of love but also disappointment when Jordana turns her back on him. Nevertheless, it's not his only problem. The boy tries also save his parents' marriage who must face up to a routine and a weird neighbour...

The film „Submarine” is definitely one of my favourite. It is brilliantly and ingeniously directed – the scenes are divided into sections which have titles. Some of them are made in an original way, they're for example retarded. The plot is truly absorbing – the emotions and the feelings of the couple are revealed slowly and fascinate an audience. But it is not so much the plot but rather the unusual atmosphere of the film that makes it a masterpiece. The breathtaking scenery of Wales, the reflective music produced by Alex Turner and the wonderful acting – all that make up a perfect combination. The ups and downs of the characters often evoke a smile on our face and make us think at a time. „Submarine” takes us on an enjoyable journey to the world of youthful desires and anxieties.

I strongly recommend „Submarine” to those who want to see on the screen an original, moving story among a great deal of commercial productions. Don't miss the première in Poland which will be soon. It is well worth seeing!

I'll never let U down... ;)

Hi Everyone!

I'm new here but I've already read most of your posts (instead of learning ;p) and I have to admit that the idea of blogging seems pretty interesting. To begin with, I'll give you a few words about me.

My name is Agata and I'm from Gorzów, the town situated 130 km to the north-west of Poznań so it's just a stone's throw. Frankly, I prefer spending time in Poznań because it' such a lively and modern place with a large number of young people. Nevertheless, I love visiting Gorzów from time to time cause there's no place like home.

Our current topic is 'Friends' and with reference to this I want to describe my kindred spirit. My friend by far the best is my boyfriend. We've known each other for about 3 years and I'm sure he is the closest person to me. We're really on the same wavelength, we have always subjects to talk about and the same sense of humour. I like about him that he is upbeat and encouraging while I'm nervous and stressed out very often. He always told me: 'don't give up, take things easy' and he's the first person whom I turn to when I'm in trouble. We love spending time together – watching films, eating unhealthy food, meeting our friends or just talking. This relationship is unique for me so I do my best to never let him down.

I have also two close and important friends – Magda and Marta whom I met in high school. They study in Poznań so we don't have a problem with keeping in touch.

Hugs and kisses ;)
